NBR M - Nitrile butadiene rubber – medium ACN

Clwyd referenceNBR M
ASTM classificationNBR M

This can be based on low, medium or high acrylonitrile content, the higher the acrylonitrile content the better the oil and chemical resistance but poorer the low temperature properties.

Typical applications
  • Aeronautical (good heat resistance, up to around 110 C)
  • Oil resistant seals and diaphragms
  • Non-latex gloves
  • Rollers
Advantages
  • Excellent resistance to oil
  • Good resilience
  • Physical and chemical properties dependent on the ACN content; the higher the ACN content the better the resistance but the lower the flexibility
Disadvantages
  • Inferior to NR in terms of physical strength and flexibility
  • Can be attached by ozone, aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones, esters and aldehydes.
