	PRODUCTION

	The main production facilities are housed in a 3500 sq metre factory. Here all the ingredients, polymers, fillers and small chemicals are weighed on a computer controlled weighing system, which owes much of its design to the pharmaceutical industry, giving weighments to within 1% of the target weight. All small ingredients are bagged to prevent cross contamination before mixing and all wrapping is removed from the polymer bales to avoid contamination during mixing. Certain polymers can if needed be pre heated in a microwave to reduce energy consumption during mixing..		The product can be supplied in strip form for use on injection molding machines, in Barwell blanks to a given weight and profile, in pellet form suitable for producing a solution, and in standard sheet form.
	Once weighed the ingredients can be mixed on either a range of open mills or in internal mixers depending on batch size or colour. If the polymer is a fluoroelastomer then it is mixed in a dedicated internal mixer to avoid contamination with other polymers.
			We have a 600 sq metre speciality elastomers factory which contains clean rooms for the dedicated mixing of silicones and perfluoroelastomers.
	All Clwyd compounds are double mixed to ensure the very best dispersion which is necessary for us to maintain our hardness control of +/- 1 degree hardness from batch to batch and +/- 2 degrees hardness run to run.		The workforce are highly skilled and trained in multi disciplines to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the factory.
