Once the compound has been developed and made, a specification can be established based around a set of physical test criteria which are important to the end use application.

For example, an aerospace seal made from Fluorosilicone (FVMQ) would need to have the following important physical properties: good compression set, excellent low temperature properties, fuel resistance and good tear strength.

We have a fully equipped laboratory where these properties and others can be measured. The laboratory also includes analytical equipment, Differential Scanning Calorimrter (DSC) and Thermal Gravametric Analiser (TGA), which gives our technologists the ability to identify an unknown material that a rubber component is made from.
