Mike joined Clwyd Compounders as a rubber technologist in 2001 from the Unipoly group (Leyland and Birmingham Rubber), having previously worked at Perrite as a polymer technologist and Protector Sabre as quality supervisor. He holds a BSc Hons (polymer science and technology) from Manchester Metropolitan University (1994). He was appointed technical manager in 2006, and technical director in 2014.
His experience covers the full spectrum of rubber products manufacture, including compounding, moulding, extrusion, calendaring, fabrications, sponge, belting and hose.
Emma joined Clwyd in 2016 after completing an MChem at Bangor University.
Emma is involved in the design and development techniques and analyses and reverse engineers customer supplied samples using a range of analytical techniques.
She is involved in the health and safety side of the company and evaluates materials to ensure compliance with ongoing REACH legislations.
Chris joined Clwyd in 1995, as a rubber technologist. Chris trained at Woodville Polymer Engineering, where he held a number of roles over a 17 year period, latterly as product service technologist. He then moved to Technical Rubber Products as Chief Chemist where he also gained extensive experience of specialist rubber mouldings. He has particular interests in compounding for the oil and gas industries, and in developing the use of low hazard materials to replace some of the traditional materials used in compounding
Peter joined Clwyd Compounders as Senior Technologist in 2016 having worked for small family owned to large multi-national Blue Chip companies in a variety of Technical roles spanning nearly 30 years. Holds a HNC in Polymer Technology from Napier Polytechnic and a HND in Chemistry plus GRSC Part 1 from Bell College of Technology with the SCOTVEC Award for Chemistry in 1987.
A highly experienced Rubber Technologist involved in legislative matters such as REACH and CLP with a detailed knowledge of raw materials. Has worked with most rubber processes and polymer types covering many diverse industries. Helping share his technical experience with our junior Technical members so that the same high standards of service will continue long into the future
Gary joined Clwyd in 1983, initially as a production operator before transferring to the lab and taking day release to train in quality control; he now holds the MCQI qualification. He progressed his career via lab supervisor, where his responsibilities included development mixing and testing, and became quality manager in 1997.
In 2009 he moved to establish our process engineering function, focussing strongly on the close control of “difficult” compounds, and also took the opportunity to study for a Foundation Degree in Polymer Science at London Met, which he completed in 2016. He joined the technical department in 2013, and is enjoying bringing his extensive experience to the customer support team.
Allan joined Clwyd in 1997, as a laboratory technician, having trained at Sanoda Limited. He has developed his career at Clwyd, via the roles of laboratory supervisor, process controller and rubber technologist, and gained his Bsc Hons (polymer science and technology) from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2007.
He is highly experienced in developing compounds to a wide range of specifications and is Manager of Clwyd`s Technical Office, Laboratory, Process Control and Quality Departments.
